Our Story

Our church began meeting weekly in January 2007. We were birthed to be a Jesus-centered family on mission with Him in downtown Columbia, in hopes of reaching the 100,000 people who don’t know Jesus within 5 miles of the South Carolina state capitol.

We want to demonstrate the effects the gospel of Jesus has on people by sharing our lives as church family on mission, welcoming people into God’s family and testifying to the blood of Jesus that breaks down walls dividing us from God and each other.

We love our Sunday Gatherings, where we gather as one big family to worship Jesus for who He is and what He’s doing in our city. However, we have no desire to simply be a large crowd of people who gather on Sundays. Instead, we hope to be groups of people who build our entire lives around the person and work of Jesus, share life together as a spiritual extended family, and live everyday as missionaries to the people around us. And that’s impossible to do during an hour and a half on Sundays.

The primary expression of our vision is our LifeGroups. Simply speaking, they are how we do church. LifeGroups meet in homes throughout our city and create networks of gospel-centered friendships, building relationships through regular rhythms of life by eating together, playing together, and serving together. They are the core of our church family, functioning as smaller groups of people being church family on mission together, scattered across the Columbia area.

As our family grows, we hope to branch out and reach many more who are far from Jesus in the suburbs surrounding Columbia, as well as send missionaries and church planters out to start more Jesus-centered families on mission with Him.

Would you like to join up with us to explore Jesus, or to plug into church family and be on mission with us? We’d love to have you. For more about our LifeGroups or to sign up for one, visit our LifeGroups page.
