Student Groups

StudentGroupsNEW.jpg

Student Groups are the weekly Wednesday night Gatherings for high school and middle school students in our church. We’re dedicated to providing a place for students (6th -12th grade) to connect with God, with other students, and with older committed leaders that are dedicated to seeing students learn more about Jesus. We want to engage and reach youth culture, so we have an environment each week for students to meet Jesus and learn to be a Jesus-centered family on mission.

We meet at 6:00pm each Wednesday in our Student Groups Building at 1819 Taylor Street.

STC | DSS | Childcare for Foster Family Training

STC - DSS WEB.jpg

We are partnering with DSS to provide childcare for a Foster Family Training event for the Lexington and Richland communities on April 27. The event will be held at 1800 Blanding Street and aims to make trainings more convenient for foster families as they typically travel long distances to get the training they need.

We will be expecting around 100 adults to attend the training and will need childcare volunteers to watch their kids during that time. Please sign up soon so we can take the necessary steps to ensure the safety for all children in our care.

Breakfast will be provided for all volunteers.

Irmo LifeGroup Interest Dinner

Live in the Irmo or Chapin area? We want to plant a LifeGroup in the area and would love to have you join us for an interest dinner. We’ll provide the food so just rsvp and show up!

On Sunday, April 28th at 5:00pm at the Midtown Offices we’re hosting a dinner for anyone living in the Irmo or Chapin area wanting to hear more about starting a LifeGroup in Irmo.

Our Every Group Around the Pool Initiative is that LifeGroups would move forward together on mission in their neighborhoods, build relationships with people, and introduce them to Jesus. One of the ways we do this is by having LifeGroups spread out around our city.

We want to start an Irmo LifeGroup so that people can attend LifeGroup where they live and have a place to invite their neighbors. Our eventual goal is that as this first LifeGroup lives on mission, more and more LifeGroups would multiply across Irmo.

Milestones Weekend

Milestones_Temp.jpg

Bad news: Parenting is hard.

We rarely feel ready for the non-stop demands, obstacles and challenges that children bring. And as soon as we begin to feel like we’ve figured it out, the target changes and we often feel lost again.

Good news: We’re here to help.

Milestones is our family discipleship program to help you and your children be prepared for the natural stages of childhood development. It’s built on noticing and celebrating the significant points of transition that children go through on their journey to adulthood.

This is a photo of our Family Milestones timeline chart

We will host our Milestones Weekend for our Family of Churches on May 4th-5th. Milestones Weekend is a weekend devoted to training and encouraging all of our parents, grandparents, and anyone interested in helping raise disciples in the next generation. It will consist of a conference on Saturday from 8:30-2pm and additional free family coaching during the 9am and 11:15am gatherings at our Downtown church.

Easter

EasterWeb.png

Join us on April 21, as we celebrate Jesus' resurrection together as a church family.

We'll start the day off with two morning Baptism Gatherings at 9:00am & 11:15am. We’ll gather to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection and hear stories of people in our church family proclaiming that Jesus is Lord.

Childcare will be available for kids 3 and under.

In between the morning Gatherings, we'll shut down the street and host a huge block party. If you're planning to attend the 11:15am Gathering, we encourage you to arrive around 10:00am to take part in the party.

Later that night we're inviting everyone to come back out for a Night of Prayer & Worship at 5:00pm. We'll spend an extended time singing to Jesus and rejoicing in his freely given grace. We won't be providing childcare, but all kids are welcome in the Gathering.

STC | Transitions | Storytelling and Worship Night

STC - Transitions WEB.jpg

We will be throwing a Storytelling and Worship Night for the residents at Transitions on April 18th. The Storytelling and Worship Night is an opportunity for us to spend quality time with the residents at Transitions while enjoying the stories and songs from members of our church family. We want people within our church family to come tell engaging stories where they have seen God work in their life, or lead the group in songs of worship and thankfulness. Think coffee shop vibes but all centered around Jesus.

This is a great chance for us to continue to build relationships with the residents and staff at Transitions while helping foster conversations about Jesus. This is also a great opportunity to invite residents to our Easter Gathering.

Recovery

Recovery is a group that meets in a 10-week cycle to help people achieve freedom and healing from issues that seem unbeatable in their lives. It is for anyone facing a battle in their life—personal sin struggles, dealing with emotional scars, or any other issue. It's a safe, family environment where you can come and deal honestly and openly with your struggles, and let Jesus begin to heal and free you in the midst of biblical family.

We gather for a short time of worship and teaching, then we break up into gender-specific small groups for discussion, encouragement, and prayer. For more information, visit our Recovery page.

We meet Monday evenings at 6:00pm in our Student Groups Building at 1819 Taylor Street. The Recovery curriculum will be provided for you. Childcare can be provided if needed. If you’re attending and need childcare, contact Ryan Rike.
