Recovery

New REcovery Web.jpg

Recovery is a group that meets in a 10-week cycle to help people achieve freedom and healing from issues that seem unbeatable in their lives. It is for anyone facing a battle in their life—personal sin struggles, dealing with emotional scars, or any other issue. It's a safe, family environment where you can come and deal honestly and openly with your struggles, and let Jesus begin to heal and free you in the midst of biblical family.

We gather for a short time of worship and teaching, then we break up into gender-specific small groups for discussion, encouragement, and prayer. For more information, visit our Recovery page.

We meet Monday evenings at 6:00pm in our Student Groups Building at 1819 Taylor Street. The Recovery curriculum will be provided for you. Childcare can be provided if needed. If you’re attending and need childcare, contact Ryan Rike.

We will host our second Milestones Family Night of the fall for our Downtown church on Sunday, October 20 from 4:00-5:30pm at 1800 Blanding Street. This night will be focused on equipping and encouraging you as parents. Our topical focus will be the Biblical foundations for Authority and Discipline.

While we are studying Scripture and learning practical tools, our children will be getting some training and equipping of their own from our incredible Kidtown Volunteers. Along with fun games and activities, we will be teaching our kids about the Biblical foundation of what it looks like to honor and obey authority in our lives - both our parents and the good God who gives us our parents!

Starting at 9:30am, we’ll have delicious treats and fun activities for everyone to enjoy before the Gathering. During the Gathering, we’ll spend time reflecting on God fulfilling His promise to us by sending Jesus. This will be a family-friendly Gathering, so kids ages 4 and up are invited to sit in. Childcare will be available for kids 3 and under.

We will not be having a 9:00am or 11:15am Gathering on December 22.

STC - Craft Night at Transitions

We will host a craft night open to our family of churches on Monday, September 23rd at Transitions Homeless Center. This event is open to anyone 18+, Midtown member or not. For craft night we will be creating fun designs on coffee mugs by dipping the mugs into a nail polish bath. The event will last approximately two and a half hours. We are hosting this event to empower the residents of Transitions to create something beautiful. And we will craft alongside of them to have fun together and remember that we are no different than the men and women in homeless situations in our city.

Please sign up if you plan to attend. Please bring a snack to share. If you have nail polish you aren't using anymore, please bring that too!

For more information, contact Charleigh Elebash (charleigh.elebash@gmail.com).
